Beets have never been a go-to vegetable for anybody. Corn, peas, broccoli, yes. Maybe cauliflower and on occasion brussels sprouts. But not beets.

Opps, We're Doing It Again
Randy and I have been married 23 years this past May. I think it’s been 23 years. Since together, we don’t quite make one fully functioning adult, I remember the month and the day and he remembers the year.
Marriage is a partnership, after all.
In that 23 years, we have moved no less than six times, averaging slightly less than four years at each house. And we are about to do it again.
For any one of my faithful readers, all five of you, ya’ll should know by now how much Randy and I enjoy the Mountain Home area of Arkansas. We have decided to make what we hope and I pray is our last move. We have bought a beautiful log home on Lake Norfork with six acres.
My main reason for moving is that Will and Sammy are getting older and I want to leave town before they find out that I’m not as cool as they think I am.
Kidding.

16 Miles? Really?
Here I go trashing Oklahoma again.
The only thing pretty that I have ever seen in Oklahoma was the sun setting on the Red River. I'll give Oklahoma credit for this, even though the Red River is the state line between it and Texas. The sun sets in Texas, too, y'all. I have mentally kicked myself a hundred times that I didn't have Randy turn around so that I could get a picture. It was beautiful.
There's the tent caterpillar situation. All long I-40 and Highway 69 there are tent caterpillars in most every tree. Huge nests of them. Now, if I were to be honest, there are also tent caterpillars in Arkansas. But only because they are migrating from Oklahoma.

We've Adopted!
Randy and I have decided that in our advancing years, since we are so very much wiser now, that it is time to add to our family.
We decided that we wanted a girl, but we had a huge choice to make. There were three little girls available to us, however one was a 2-1/2 hour drive in one direction and the other two were a 2-1/2 hour drive in the other direction.

You Have Got To Be Kidding Me
I have furnished Randy with a list of things to do if I should perish before him.. Not requests for music, poetry readings or flower choices for a funeral. He knows better. Nope, there ain't gonna no service. Just cremate me in a cardboard box and toss the ashes out when he cleans the barbecue. No muss, no fuss.
This list is helpful tidbits like when to change the sheets on the bed, where to find the sheets, how to cook rice, where to find the rice. Regular life stuff.
Although, I have made Randy promise me that if I die in a fiery car crash, please oh please, do not put up any roadside memorial as a tribute to me.
