Whirlwind of A Weekend

Thursday seems so long ago.  That is when Randy and I were on our way to Memphis to pick up Debbie.

Here it is Tuesday already and yesterday we took Deb back to Memphis to go home.  The poor girl had some trouble getting out of Memphis, which made her miss the connecting flight from Denver to Seattle.  I haven't heard from her yet this morning, but I suspect that she didn't get to her house until the wee hours of the night.

Memphis In March

Memphis is known for Elvis and Graceland as well as being the birthplace of Rock and Roll and the Blues.  The largest city in Tennessee, Memphis is named for an ancient Egyptian city on the Nile River.  Be careful if you take your pet frog into Memphis, 'cause it is against the law for Kermit to croak after 11pm.

In 2007, Randy and I drove to Memphis to go to the Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Contest.  Guess what time of year we took that trip?

On A Clear Day

Partly because I thought that Mountain Home was having an inordinate amount of fog and mostly because Debbie is coming to visit at the end of the week, I decided to tackle washing my outside windows.

I am not a fanatic about having clean windows.  In a perfect world, (or when I take over my world, same difference), maybe windows would be dust and streak free.  I haven't decided yet.  However, in the real world that just isn't possible.

Could It Be Me?

Finding a new doctor is never fun.  Especially when we liked our last doctors so much.  It would be difficult to find any other clinic that measured up to the clinic we went to in Texas.

First off, not all doctors around these parts are taking new patients.  When you do find one that will take you on, you have to wait a quite a while to get an appointment.

Can I Please Have A Monkey?

I read a story over the weekend on MSNBC about a woman in Virginia that smuggled a monkey into court in her bra.

She bought the little critter on eBay.  She won't say the price she paid for it, but the Lynchburg, Virginia website that had another article about it said that she paid between $1800 - $2600 for the less-than-one-pound-when-fully-grown pet. The monkey, that she named 'Cara' and referred to as her daughter, was about seven weeks old.
