Facts and Figures

In celebration of Father's Day, here are some interesting tidbits of information:

The mother of Father's Day is Sonora Dodd.  She wanted a special day to honor her father and on June 19th, 1910, the first Father's Day was celebrated in Spokane, Washington.

In the 1930's, the Associated Men's Wear Retailers formed the National Father's Day Committee to promote the concept all over the United States and the world.

The rose is the official flower of Father's Day.  If you wear a red rose, that means that your father is living, a white rose means that he is deceased.
